Preparing for Future Success
Mr Tom Part
Deputy Head | Academics
Deputy Head’s Welcome
I believe what will truly set our school apart, is the palpable energy our teachers pour into helping each unique pupil not just meet, but thrive and relish their academic journey. We passionately believe that academic achievement and personal growth are intertwined, a dynamic we aim to cultivate through a rich and varied curriculum that dives deep into the rigour of our core subjects, while celebrating the arts and championing sporting excellence. All of this is complimented by a co-curricular program brimming with opportunities thanks to our dedicated staff.
At Fidelis College, we’re not just about grades; we’re about nurturing the strength of character and moral compass that will empower our pupils to navigate life with confidence and integrity. We aim to ignite a deep and resilient love and understanding of learning, where challenges are embraced, and the courage to learn from mistakes is celebrated. Our teachers are passionate advocates for individual growth, adapting their approaches so that every student can flourish – because one size definitely does not fit all here!
We wholeheartedly believe in the power of partnership with parents, recognizing them as the primary educators. We ask our teachers to serve as inspiring role models, leading by example and igniting a passion for knowledge. My own passion for nurturing teacher growth is central to our school’s ongoing evolution. We seek educators who don’t just work here, but who wholeheartedly embrace our vision and are excited to contribute to the extraordinary learning environment that defines Fidelis College.

The General
Principles
The primary focus of The Fidelis curriculum is a philosophy that encompasses true freedom with a curriculum that is broad, balanced and academically rigorous. The emphasis is on teaching pupils to think and cultivating a spirit of intellectual adventure through exposure to ‘the best that has been thought and said’.
Our approach is designed to enable pupils to join with the great minds of history, rising above their current situation and culture in order to appreciate what is deepest in our human condition: the meaning of love, commitment, sacrifice and generous service to others.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the main entry points?
We welcome pupils at several key stages, including Early Years, 7+, 11+ and Sixth Form. Entry at other points may also be possible, subject to availability. Our admissions team will always take the time to talk through the most appropriate entry point for your child and advise on next steps.
Why choose Fidelis College for my child's education?
Families choose Fidelis because we combine high academic expectations with genuine personal care. We take the time to know each pupil as an individual and to support them academically, pastorally, and spiritually. Our aim is not simply exam success, but to help young people grow into confident, compassionate, and resilient individuals.
What kind of child thrives at Fidelis College?
There is no single “type” of Fidelis pupil. Our students are curious, kind, and willing to grow — whether they arrive confident and outgoing or quieter and still finding their voice. What matters most is a readiness to engage, to try, and to develop both character and intellect within a supportive community.
What does ‘character-first’ actually look like day to day?
Character is woven into everyday school life, not added on. Through tutor time, assemblies, service opportunities, and daily interactions, pupils are encouraged to show joy, courage, responsibility, and service. Staff model these values consistently, helping pupils develop strong habits, self-awareness, and respect for others.
How Catholic is the school?
Fidelis College is proudly Catholic, with faith and values at the heart of school life. Our ethos shapes how we care for pupils and treat one another. Catholic families are fully supported in their faith journey, and families of other faiths — or none — are warmly welcomed and respected. Our focus is on shared values, understanding, and community.
How involved are parents?
We see education as a partnership. Parents are kept well informed and are encouraged to engage with school life, whether through communication with tutors, attending events, or sharing insights that help us support their child. We value open dialogue and believe that strong relationships between home and school make a real difference.
