About Us

Our Vision & Ethos

At Fidelis College, we believe education is about forming great young people – not just high exam results. Our mission is for every pupil to grow intellectually, morally, and personally so that they make a positive contribution to society.

We cultivate a learning culture rooted in:

  • Academic ambition and intellectual curiosity

  • Character and virtue grounded in the Catholic tradition

  • Partnership with families to nurture personal growth

Through a personalised tutorial system and strong pastoral care, we help pupils develop resilience, compassion, responsibility and joy in learning.

Tutorial System

The personalised Tutorial System is the most distinctive feature of Fidelis College. The goal of the tutorial system is to help each pupil reach their potential in every area of their life. Tutors stay in close contact with parents throughout the year.

The principal area of education which the tutorial system addresses is the pupil’s character. Everything else, including academic results, flows from this. Academic results are part of a bigger picture. The Fidelis’ aim is to work with parents in the education of the whole person academically, spiritually, culturally, socially and physically.

Studies

During the school years character will be largely formed by the approach to schoolwork.

Social Development

Contribution to the wider society with generosity and understanding is important. We aim to foster an attitude of service.

Character development

The tutor aims to use every opportunity to encourage the pupil to develop character and they do this hand in hand with the Virtues Programme in place at the school.

Chaplaincy

The chaplaincy, composed of priests from Opus Dei, is responsible for accompanying, guiding, and providing spiritual and pastoral support to students, families, friends, alumni, and members of staff. Through regular opportunities for prayer, reflection, and sacramental life, the chaplaincy plays a central role in nurturing the spiritual development of the whole school community.

The school chapel is always open, offering a quiet and reverent space for personal prayer throughout the day. Holy Mass is celebrated daily and is available to pupils who wish to attend. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is also available daily, ensuring that pupils and members of the wider community have regular and easy access to confession.

House System

At Fidelis College, the House System is a central pillar of school life, fostering community, leadership, friendship, and healthy competition across all year groups. Every pupil and member of staff is assigned to one of four Houses:

Each house is a vibrant community, offering pupils the chance to contribute, compete, lead and belong throughout their time at Fidelis.
